South Carolina man charged with DUI refuses breath test

When facing charges associated with drunk driving, it may seem like defending your position is a hopeless effort. However, that is never the case. Whether the charges involved a high breath test or refusing to take a breath test, there is always hope for a desirable outcome. Therefore, no matter what the situation, it is always important to have a strong defense.

A South Carolina man who is also a high school sports coach was recently pulled over on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was pulled over just before midnight on a Saturday night. Although he refused a breath test, authorities still stated he was very cooperative. He was booked into a detention facility that evening but has since been released. He has been charged with driving under the influence.

Unfortunately, the consequences in these situations can be very punitive. Since this man is a high school sports coach, he has been placed on administrative leave until further notice. It will be very important for him to have a rigorous defense with a strong strategy in place to prevent further hindrances to his reputation.

When individuals facing DUI or DWI charges are defending the results of a breath test, they may be surprised to know that there are numerous possible defenses. Those defenses often comes in the form of challenging the validity of the results provided by the breath test machine whether it is a Breathalyzer or a DataMaster. There are numerous situations where the results of these tests have been proven extremely unreliable, therefore resulting in a mitigation of charges associated with conviction or, in some cases, a complete dismissal of charges.

With a strong defense, an individual facing DWI or DUI charges can hope for any number of positive outcomes which may include negotiation of a plea deal, acquittal or a complete dismissal of charges. Facing drunk driving charges may seem like a dismal situation at first, but that situation can almost always be improved with the right strategy.
