Man facing three felony DUI charges after early morning accident

It may seem to residents of South Carolina that all situations involving charges for drunk driving are the same. However, that is not the case. Every drunk driving case differs and some are more severe than others. The most severe cases that involve charges for driving while intoxicated are those that result in a felony DUI charge.

A felony DUI charge almost always results from a driver who was intoxicated at the time that they were involved in an accident. There are numerous qualities of the accident that can result in a felony DUI charge but, most often, there is an individual who suffers severe bodily injury or death as a result.

Recently a South Carolina man was charged with three counts of felony DUI after an early morning accident that occurred in North Charleston.

Paramedics and authorities had responded to the scene of a motorcycle accident at around 1:45 in the morning. While they were at the scene of the accident, another car came by and struck some of the individuals. The 26-year-old driver was allegedly intoxicated. In total, seven people were sent to the hospital to be treated for their injuries. The driver is facing three counts of felony DUI for the injuries that were suffered by three of the individuals.

When a person is charged with felony DUI, it can be a very scary situation and it should be taken very seriously. The good news is that there are experienced drunk driving defense attorneys in South Carolina that want to take on these cases and help the accused obtain the most beneficial outcome possible.

There are serious penalties that accompany a conviction for felony DUI. However, the outcome is usually better for the defendant when they involve a defense attorney. This attorney will facilitate an in depth investigation of the facts and determine what arguments can be raised to potentially obtain a reduction in charges or even a dismissal.

Nobody condones driving under the influence of alcohol. However, anyone accused of this crime is entitled to their rights and to mount the best possible defense.
