Find the focal point of the prosecution's case to plan a defense

The penalties of a drunk driving conviction should spur you to take action from the second that you know you will be facing these charges. There isn't any reason to think that you need to just sit back and take things without any fight. We know that you might not know where you should start for your defense. We are here to help you along the way.

One thing that you have to think about when you are planning a defense is how the prosecution will present the case. Think about what the focal point of their case will be. You then take the focal point and try to cast doubt onto the claims. This can mean that you raise questions about how the blood alcohol concentration (BAC) result might not be accurate. It could mean that you question when the sample was taken, how it was taken or the way it was processed.

There are often many different things that you can call into question as part of your defense. Think about each one individually. The more holes you can poke in the prosecution's case, the better your defense might be.

Another thing to consider is that if you know that you are going to be found guilty because the case against you is just that strong, you can move toward trying to minimize the penalties that you are going to face. This is something that might not be easy, but there could be ways you can do this. Of course, you will likely have to face at least some penalties if you are found guilty.
