The basics of boating under the influence

There is no denying the fact that boating can be an enjoyable experience. From the sun to the water sports, there is nothing better than a day on the water. However, there is something to remember: Boating under the influence is against the law. Just the same as operating a car, you are not permitted to get behind the wheel of a boat if you have had too much alcohol to drink.

According to the United States Coast Guard, alcohol is more dangerous on water than on land. This goes a long way in proving that the Coast Guard is not going to let anyone get away with this crime.

Thanks to a variety of regulations, boating under the influence is not a common occurrence. Of course, this does not stop people from committing this crime. There are always people who make the honest mistake of drinking too much while on the water in South Carolina.

There is no denying the fact that alcohol can impact a person's ability to operate a boat. However, there are other factors that can do the same, such as dehydration, noise, sun glare, and the wind.

Due to a variety of external circumstances, it is not uncommon for a person to be charged with boating under the influence when they shouldn't have been.

It is important to understand the seriousness of boating under the influence. At the same time, you should understand the fact that the authorities are on the lookout for people who are boating and driving. For this reason, they often charge people who were not legally drunk.
