Young South Carolina driver facing 2 counts of felony DUI

Anyone's life can change in an instant. The change may be for the better or for the worse and there are many different situations that can lead up to or cause this change. When residents of South Carolina consumes alcohol and then gets behind the wheel of their car they may not realize that, if they have consumed more than legally allowable, their life may be about to take a turn for the worse.

A 20-year-old resident of South Carolina has experienced this type of change first hand. After an accident that occurred while he was driving his vehicle at around 1:00 a.m. he was charged with two counts of felony DUI. A DUI conviction is usually accompanied by serious penalties that can have a tremendously negative impact on the life of the alleged drunk driver. This is why it is very important to seek the counsel of a drunk driving defense attorney as soon as the charges are filed or pressed.

According to reports, this 20-year-old man was driving westbound. He attempted to pass another vehicle and ultimately the two cars collided. The other vehicle had three individuals traveling inside of it. The 19-year-old driver suffered fatal injuries as a result of the accident. The two passengers suffered injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment. Their current condition is unknown.

The 20-year-old driver who is suspected of driving while intoxicated is now facing charges for two counts of felony DUI. However, the accident is still under investigation and it is important for all defendants to understand that they are entitled to rights and that they are innocent until proven guilty.

Many criminal defense options are available to those facing felony DUI charges. They may include challenging police behavior or tests. Other options may include having a felony reduced to a misdemeanor, getting the case dismissed, obtaining an acquittal at trial and a victory after appealing the initial result.
